April 5 WW11 Carrier Pilots Forum: The forum will provide the audience an insight of WWII, Korean War, Viet Nam War and Iraq War carrier pilot’s experiences, insights and thoughts. The audience will also be able to ask questions of the carrier pilots.
2:00 PM to 3:30 PM $5.00 admission.

April 19-20, 2008: This is a fund raiser event by the Classic and Chrome Car Club to raise funds to support Keith School to display premium cars at the Indoor Sports Club located on Riverside, just west of I90. The Museum is collaborating with the Car Club to include aviation as well as cars as a theme for the show.
Social evening is April 19th at the Museum. Cocktails, appetizers and silent auction. Tickets are $20 and a cash bar.


May 3, 2008: Intro to Flight. The Museum at Poplar Grove hosts a Intro to Flight for area youth. There will be a class room session on Theory of Flight, a tour of the Poplar Grove Airmotive Engine Shop for Boy Scouts interested in earning a Aviation Merit Badge and a brief airplane ride offered by members of EAA 1414. A nominal fee is charged. 0900-1200.

 

May 30 – Jun 1 2008: Army Wings and Wheels 2008. June 14, 2008: The Annual Flag Day celebration at the Museum. This educational and informative program seeks to inform and celebrate our nations flag.

July12, 2008: Family Fly Day. Centered at the Museum this event covers the Airport and the surrounding airspace. Bring out the family for a aviation celebrations. Pilots will be showing their aircraft, there will be many static and aerial displays of all things aviation. Kids of all ages love this event, plan on coming and staying a while.

July 13, 2008: Annual British Boots and Bonnets Car Show. Once again the wonderful world of British automobilia descends on the Museum grounds for this annual celebration. From the deceptively small and wickedly fast Mini Cooper S to the elegant Austin Healey's as well as the odd Rolls Royce, this show is one to remember. Mark your calendar, this weekend is the one!

July 20, 2008: Agricultural equipment meticulously restored dating back nearly a hundred years thru "modern" fifty year old John Deere and Minneapolis Moline tractors will be found on the grounds of the Museum. This event was a rousing success last year and is expected to be even bigger and better this year.

July 24-26, 2008: The Meyers Fly-In. The Airport is the proud home of Captain Charles "Chuck" Downey's OTW, "Fly Navy" and the Airport is pleased to be the venue for this years Meyers Fly-In. Hosted at the Museum, a gathering of vintage planes will be on display for aviators of all kinds to enjoy. If you like them old and with round motors, this is the place to be.

August 17, 2008: Once again northern Illinois's premier Pancake Fly-In Breakfast at the main Maintenance Hangar. The Lyons Club will be serving up a tasty meal with all the trimmings. After breakfast head over to the Flight Office for the traditional plane ride offered by the Flight School for a nominal fee and then take the shuttle to the Museum and stroll the grounds. The flight line will be filled with aircraft from all over the Midwest and the grounds with plenty of things to see and do.

September 20, 2008: 2008 Ho-Down Fundraiser. Yep, it's a good old fashion Ho-Down so bring your bibs and your appetite. The Museum will host it's annual fund raiser, there will be a huge bar-b-que, dancing, music and fun for all.
